The Center for Teaching Excellence CTE is dedicated to fostering innovative teaching methods, offering consultations, conducting workshops, hosting programs and special events, providing resources specifically tlored for graduate student development in teaching, as well as providing a vast virtual reality applications library.

We are passionate about enhancing the learning experience through technology and our team of Graduate Assistants play a crucial role in researching and gathering VR apps that cater to different academic fields across various disciplines including but not limited to: Anatomy, Architecture, Art History, Astronomy, Chemistry, Communications Education, English, Geography, HealthcareMedical, History, Languages, Mathematics, Music, Physical EducationFitness, Science, Social Sciences, Sports Entertnment Management.

All these applications are meticulously organized by category and include diverse features such as price point, platform compatibility, and unique functionalities. The Center for Teaching Excellence is committed to continuously expanding its VR app library through regular updates.

We encourage our faculty and staff members to leverage these powerful learning tools in their classrooms. Our Graduate Assistants can provide personalized advice on integrating VR technology into teaching strategies, facilitate brnstorming sessions about potential applications in specific fields, and with approval, we may even procure additional apps that are specifically aligned with the academic needs of your courses.

Our resources include a guide for new users to get started with the Meta Quest 2 headset as well as a video tutorial on how to utilize it effectively.

The Center for Teaching Excellence supports its mission by providing access points such as location detls, contact information and donation options. We believe that investing in education enhances the overall learning environment, leading to better academic outcomes.

We also provide useful tools like Carolina Alert for emergencies, campus eml services, and online platforms like Blackboard for communication and course management, along with finance resources through Bursar's office for fee payments.

Furthermore, we are committed to addressing accessibility needs by providing guidelines for virtual environments including equipment requests forms and accessibility considerations. Our Privacy Policy ensures the security of student data, while our Student Consumer Information Transparency Initiative adheres to compliance regulations.

Our team is also equipped to address civil rights concerns through Title IX procedures, provide support for students with disabilities through Disability Resources, offer veteran services, manage financial d and scholarships, assist with employment opportunities, ensure safety through Law Enforcement and Safety units, facilitate access to University Libraries, among many other offices and divisions dedicated to student success.
